December 14, 2015 – The following project eligibility for Production funding has been cancelled effective December 1, 2015:

4.2  “theatrical feature films that have previously received financial support through the Cogeco Fund’s Corporate Theatrical Feature Film Program”

They will no longer be eligible for production funding from the Cogeco Fund.

The funding priority for the Cogeco Fund since its inception in 1992 has been the development and production of dramatic television programs.  Given the strong demand for production financing in the past few years from the television industry, the Board of Directors of the Cogeco Fund has decided to eliminate the exception to this eligibility for financing which was previously available to feature films supported in development by the Cogeco Fund through its Corporate Theatrical Feature Film Program.  The Board is aware that one less funding source for feature film production is always a cause for concern.  The Cogeco Fund invests approximately $3M annually in the television industry and this remains the mandated priority.

Note also that the Corporate Theatrical Feature Film Development Program has also been cancelled, effective December 1, 2015.
