Jon Taylor is a media executive, producer and entrepreneur based in Toronto, Canada. As CEO of the Independent Production Fund, Jon helps to provide financial support for the development and production of TV series in Canada.

Prior to joining the IPF, Jon was Executive Director of the Global Online Video Association, the first industry-wide association for companies building businesses on social video platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat. A former Bell executive, Jon led Bell Media’s digital business transformation, including the launch of Canada’s premier streaming service, Crave, in partnership with HBO and Showtime.

Before executive leadership roles, Jon had an extensive career as a television producer, including working with Discovery, ESPN, MTV, the United Nations, the Academy Awards and the Olympic Games.

Jon is frequently invited to speak at industry events regarding film and tv financing, career growth, and digital transformation.

Charles Zamaria is Chief Financial Officer for the Independent Production Fund (1996 +). He also served as Financial Director for the Bell Fund in addition to several other Canadian Independent Production Funds (Cogeco Fund, Telefilm Canada, Canwest Fund, Videon Fund). He has worked for numerous broadcasting organizations and independent production companies: CTV, YTV, and CBC Cambium Productions, in various production and senior management capacities. He has a long list of credits as producer, line producer, production manager, accountant, sound recordist and editor on dozens of award-winning independent film and television productions. Author of numerous industry-based and academic publications, he also served as Director of various government and industry trade missions around the world. Concurrently, Professor Zamaria is a full-time tenured faculty member in the RTA: School of Media at Toronto Metropolitan University (1991+), where he specializes in teaching production and business aspects of producing in various media industry.

Catherine Moreau brings over 15 years of experience in the audiovisual and media sector, with a track record spanning scripted, documentary, variety, and youth television, both in production and content development. In 2021, she joined the Independent Production Fund (IPF) as Deputy Director of the Montreal office, where she manages the French-language programs and champions the interests of emerging talent nationwide. Her work at the IPF has deepened her expertise in project analysis and audiovisual financing, while sharpening her strategic perspective on the challenges and opportunities of an industry undergoing significant transformation.

Carly McGowan is a seasoned media executive with nearly 20 years in Canada’s screen-based industry. As Program Director of the Independent Production Fund, and formerly with the Cogeco and Bell Fund, she has evaluated 2,000+ applications and supported over 200 digital short form series. Carly collaborates with producers, broadcasters, and platforms to champion innovative content and regularly serves as a juror and panelist for industry organizations, including the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the Canadian Film Centre, and Women in the Director’s Chair among others.

Mark completed his Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies at Carleton University. With a passion of studying film theory and a desire to share the film-going experience with others, he went on to complete a graduate degree in Television & Film – Business at Centennial College. Upon graduation Mark interned in the distribution department at a production company, then started his career working for two national funding organizations, the Bell Fund and the Independent Production Fund. Since 2018, Mark has evaluated over 600 series applications, manages the Industry Development program that supports media organizations and events across Canada and leads all climate and sustainability initiatives at the IPF. Currently, Mark is the Program Manager and Climate Lens Facilitator at the Independent Production Fund (IPF).

Trained as an actor, Andréanne started her career in the audiovisual industry before moving into publishing, where she gained strong expertise in communications and marketing. Driven by a genuine desire to support creators and reconnect with her early passion for screen-based storytelling, she joined the Independent Production Fund. She now acts as Community and Communication Coordinator, a role that combines her love of creative work with her talent for highlighting emerging voices. She supports creators, helps elevate their projects, and represents the IPF across the industry.
