Overview

The IPF is seeking a bilingual (French/English) Community & Communication Coordinator to spearhead our social media, PR, and community outreach initiatives. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Montreal Office, this new role will be instrumental in helping the IPF connect with our producer community, promote our programs and track alumni success.

Employment Details:

  • Permanent, full-time position (3 months probation)
  • Flexible working hours (35 hours per week / 7 hours per day)
  • Start date: Immediate
  • Office Location: Montreal/Remote (primarily remote, with approximately 2 days per month in person at our Montreal office)
  • Occasional travel within Canada

Responsibilities

  • Create bilingual, engaging and relevant content on IPF social networks (currently Facebook, X, & LinkedIn)
  • Develop effective communication strategies based on various needs
  • Maintain our general email addresses – triage, answer or forward to appropriate personnel for response
  • Maintain IPF/FIP website – occasional content updates using drag and drop editor (no coding)
  • Draft and publish all Press Releases in both French and English (2-4 times per year)
  • Create digital advertising and/or branded visuals as required for industry events
  • Coordinate marketing and communication requirements with partners
  • Conduct surveys and other communication with producer alumni and help them connect with each other via social platforms
  • Project manage creation of IPF Annual Report

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Prior experience in PR and marketing, including social media, community engagement
  • Strong collaboration and social skills including being a resilient, adaptable, and friendly team player
  • Exceptional ability to learn and take on new tasks and provide efficient, solution-based input in a timely manner
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work autonomously
  • Proficiency in social media creation, scheduling and analytics tools (such as Hootsuite)
  • Proficiency in simple design tools (such as Canva)
  • Familiarity with Community Outreach platforms (such as Discord, Slack, FB Groups)
  • Familiarity with paid advertising campaigns
  • Post Secondary Degree or equivalent in Social Media, Marketing, Communications, or related fields is an asset
  • Prior experience related to the screen industry is an asset
