February 16, 2026 — The Independent Production Fund (IPF) is pleased to announce updated eligibility criteria for the Cogeco TV Production Program, which now accepts applications for scripted television series with a running time of 30 minutes per episode, in addition to the 60‑minute format series and children’s series of any length it currently supports.

Positioning the update in response to an evolving television production landscape, the IPF emphasized its dedication to remaining responsive to the industry’s needs:

“This change reflects a commitment by the IPF Board to make the Cogeco TV program more accessible,” said Jon Taylor, CEO of the IPF. “Expanding eligible formats is a necessary step to support a diversity of production pathways and broaden access to funding for a more representative range of producers across the industry.”

In addition to this program update, the Cogeco TV Production Program will also require all applicants to participate in a self-identification (Self-ID) data collection process as part of their application, per new CRTC regulations for CIPFs.

The application portal will open March 17, 2026.

Since its inception, the IPF has invested over $100M in more than 1,000 projects: 143 Short Form Series Development projects, 199 Short Form Series Productions, 348 TV Productions, and over 580 Industry Development projects.

The IPF is incorporated as a charitable foundation with an endowment valued at approximately $40M. It uses the interest generated by the endowment and return on its project investments for its annual operations and project funding. The IPF Board of Directors is composed of representatives from the industry and makes all final funding decisions.
