The website represents a brewing opportunity for advertisers to become part of a media brand that celebrates young people world wide who are affecting real change in their communities. Through a growing high school and university grass roots campaign, 4REAL.com serves as a spring board for young people to participate in this new global culture. Supported by an A-list of feature film and music stars including Cameron Diaz, Joaquin Phoenix and Mos Def, this web content is creating the new cool of proactive social engagement. www.TotalDramaIsland.com is the International Interactive Emmy Award nominated website that lets users create a personalized avatar as they dive into their mission to survive the summer school break. But that’s not so easy online where you have to endure outrageous competitions/games like Hot Tub Hullabaloo and Dodge Ball Desperation. Then there’s the backstabbing gossip, in the form of a personalized email “mockbloid” that features the User’s personal avatar on the cover. No one is immune to exposure as a community message board and a scoring mechanism entices players to compete against each other by posting scores on a live leader board. Users compete in weekly online games earning points towards the ultimate grand prize – a chance to see their customized avatar appear on an episode of the television series. www.TheBorder.ca immerses players into the world of espionage as they are interrogated by officers of the fictional ICS (Immigration and Customs Security) Squad, track known terrorists using satellite video and wire taps, and even help defuse a bomb. Games are intended to have a linear progression and successful players unlock an unfolding narrative line unique to the web. The games can be played again and again once unlocked. In addition, the website uses innovative QR Code technology. QR or 'quick response’ codes are revolutionary because of their high level of interactive information-swapping technology. QR codes allow for online game players to have real world interaction. Placed in advertisements, QR codes are photographed using cell phones, and sent to a designated telephone number. The information is then 'unlocked’ by a main server and the player will receive a text message with clues to where the next code can be located, making online games more compelling.
